Cholesterol control-Is important!
Cholesterol levels in the body need to be kept under control, in order for a human body to remain fit and free of all the diseases
When cholesterol is present in an excessive amount in the body, it leads to heart attack by blocking the blood vessels.
There are two types of lipoproteins and their quantity determines the main factors of heart disease:
Low density lipoprotein (ldl): This is the main cause of harmful fat which is build up in arteries, therefore it is called as bad cholesterol in other words, if this level rises then there is a higher risk of heart attack.
High density lipoprotein (hdl): HDL helps prevent cholesterol, build up in the blood vessels. It carries blood cholesterol back to the liver where it can be eliminated. It is also called as good cholesterol in other words.
Several factors which also affect cholesterol are:
Excess weight which increases blood cholesterol level
Regular physical activity also control cholesterol
Heredity also influences the blood cholesterol levels in the body
Stress is one of the major causes for increase in cholesterol levels
